So, like I mentioned in the last post, I have been busy in the past few months leading The Simple Life. One good part of it is to with finally signing up for part-time art school at NAFA. It's been something I have been wanting to do since - what? - university days actually. But law school, after that pupillage, and then starting out in practice made it seem like an impossible thing to do. I could have done in Hong Kong, I guess, especially during the couple of years of the downturn, but classes were hard to find, and always conducted in Cantonese. Last year, I was happy with the Treehouse decorating project. This year, I decided to do it. We have just finished Term 1 of this year's course, and these are the things that we have been drawing:
Title: My Hand
Title 2: My Foot
Title: Not My Nose
Title: Human Head, without Skin
All of the above were done with charcoal. It's an entirely new medium for me, so I am still trying to figure it out. It's a short course, so we are moving on to watercolours this new term. Yay! Colours at last, and in my favourite medium! :)
Sundays afternoons in the studio have been very nice indeed in the Simple Life.
